Led by China and India, the world generated over 60% of its electric power in 2023 using fossil fuels according to statistics analyzed by Reuters.

China Outstrips All Other Countries in Carbon Based Power Production

As more and more Western economies invest heavily in renewable technologies, China and India continue to generate a massive amount of their power from carbon based fuels.

In 2022, given that China’s energy use was almost 40% higher than all of America combined AND that 65% of its energy was generated by carbon fuels, China alone produced more energy from carbon than the entire American domestic economy itself.
