Where Is Building Booming? Despite Pro-Housing Focus In Many Urban States, Ex-Urban Areas Grow Fastest

According to building permit data collected and tracked by the national Census Bureau and analyzed by the Washington Post, the county’s that are granting the most building permits are not usually in the states that are spending the most time on housing policy.

Counties in Florida, Texas, Arizona, and even Maine and areas of the northeast saw the largest sustained booms in the issuance of building permits as measure against their population over the last few years despite the California Legislature and multiple heavily urbanized states engaging in and passing legislation at least drafted to assist in the building of housing.
