Housing Costs Increase 3.5X Faster in October 2023 Than Federal Reserve Targets

While the overall inflation rate for October 2023 slowed to no net increase while maintaining a 3.2% overall increase over the previous twelve months, overall housing increases at 6.7% twelve month rate with increases each month over month for over a year according to the US Department of Labor Statistics.

The overall inflation rate measured out for the month at no net increase due to decreases to gasoline and a narrow basket of other sectors while transportation services alone increased at a twelve month rate of 9.2% and also having seen an increase for several months in a row.
