CNN: Ford Reports Losing $1.3 Billion In First Quarter Of 2024

Facing a 2035 deadline to convert all of its vehicle sales in several states to all electric or other energy source classified as renewable, Ford reported losing $1.3 Billion on the sale of just 10,000 electric vehicles in the first three months of 2024 according to a recent report in CNN.

While other automakers reported loses on the sales of electric vehicles, Ford’s loss of $132,000 per vehicle points to future losses which may add up to more than $5 billion in 2024. Despite that number, Ford CEO Jim Farley underlined the commitment of the company to their zero emission vehicle offerings by pledging to cut costs in future vehicles.
