Silicon Valley Backed Plan For A New Major City From Scratch Is Headed To Ballot
Promising to help conquer high housing prices for career professionals and workers within a community that sets the standard for using renewable energy and sustainable planning, the group California Forward has turned in the signatures of over 20,000 voters in Solano County, California to put the development proposal before voters in November 2024 according to reports from the Associated Press.
The proponent sponsors, California Forward, is largely backed by Silicon Valley donors including Marc Andreessen and Laurene Powell Jobs as an effort to build a city that ultimately may become home to over 400,000 residents adjacent to Travis Air Force Base in Rio Vista, CA west of Sacramento.
