Inflation In May Ticks Up Slightly But Maintains An Annual Rate of 4% - Twice Fed Target

In May, while inflation ticked up .1% the annual rate of consumer price inflation maintained a 4.0% according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

For another month, housing was the leading cost increase within the consumer price index at an annual rate of increase of 8.0%.

The index for shelter was the largest contributor to the monthly all items increase, followed by
an increase in the index for used cars and trucks.
