WSJ: Biden Levies Heavy Tariffs On A Number of Chinese Climate Change Tech, Vehicles

The Wall Street Journal reports that the Biden Administration will implement sweeping tariff increases across a number of Chinese made electric vehicles and technology related to implementing climate change regulations in the United States.

Admitting that the plans will cause American companies to have to adjust their supply chains and budgets while still having to meet hard deadlines for achieving economy wide zero emissions mandates, the Biden order will raise electric vehicle tariffs by 100% with duties on solar panels and related power generation equipment being boosted by up to 50% and the levy on steel and aluminum going up by almost 300%.

100% ELECTRIC CAR TARIFF WILL NOT HAVE HUGE EFFECT ON TODAY’S EV MARKETPLACE

As job creators across the West make their plans to compete in a zero emissions marketplace, currently mandated to begin in earnest in 2035-2042, clearly issues like the global supply chain will take on a more pronounced effect on the economy.
