Over Half Of The Corporate Renewable Energy Market Dominated By Handful Of Big Tech

Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta and Microsoft account for roughly half of the contracted corporate renewable energy market globally according to a white paper published by Standard and Poors Global.

As a result of the enormous energy demand from datacenters, along with commitments to be 100% renewable, these five companies alone account for over 45 GW of corporate renewable purchases worldwide

That amount of contracted renewable energy is nearly five times the energy uses of the global hub of data centers which are clustered in Northern Virginia and consume around 9 gigawatts annually.
