Dropping Demand For Goods Drops Shipping Costs Below Key Price Point

Bloomberg reports that the weakening demand for Chinese manufactured goods in the United States and globally has caused a dramatic shift in shipping costs which has basically halved the cost of shipping a 40 foot container between the two largest economies in the world to $3,779 +/- today.

The dramatic drop in costs is reflected by the now unusual but smaller let up in container ship arrivals in US ports on both coasts but especially the two largest ports in North America in Los Angeles and Long Beach.
