Asian Manufacturing Shifts Also Cause Changes In Western US Supply Chain
CNBC reports that as ports on the East Coast of North America are experiencing record volumes of containers, Asian manufacturing activity has been shifting from China to numerous other locales for a range of products and goods.
While the shifts in cargo arriving in the United States towards the East Coast are often described as a hedge against potential rail and longshore worker strikes, the shift in manufacturing activity is not simple or short term but much more likely to be the result of long term and continued handling of COVID and other disruptions in China.
